8.1 What Is Data in AI?
Data is any information an AI learns from - numbers, text, images, audio, clicks. No data, no AI.
Chapter 8: Data and AI Algorithms
In AI, data is the examples a model learns from. It can be numbers in a spreadsheet, millions of sentences, photos, audio clips, sensor readings or every tap you make in an app.
Data is often organised into features (the input details, like a house's size and location) and labels (the answer you want to predict, like its price).
Quality beats quantity. A smaller, clean, well-labelled dataset often beats a massive messy one. And if the data doesn't represent everyone fairly, the AI won't either.
Key takeaways
Data = the examples AI learns from
Features = inputs, labels = answers
Quality and fairness of data matter more than size alone
