12.5 Skills Required to Learn AI
Start with curiosity and AI literacy, add a bit of Python and data skills, then go as deep as you like.
Chapter 12: Future of Artificial Intelligence
Think of it as levels. Level 1 - AI literacy: know how AI works, its limits, and how to prompt well (you're basically here after this course).
Level 2 - Data & Python basics: Python, Pandas, simple charts. Level 3 - Machine learning: maths basics (statistics, a little linear algebra), scikit-learn, evaluating models. Level 4 - Deep learning: PyTorch or TensorFlow, neural networks, working with LLMs and APIs.
Don't forget the human skills: critical thinking, communication, ethics and creativity. And the best way to learn is to build small projects you actually care about.
Next step
Pick one tiny project - like a playlist mood classifier or a study-notes summariser - and build it. Projects teach faster than tutorials.
